Acorn + Iron + Onion Tote

$200.00
sold out

A one of a kind tote bag, made using foraged and found plant life around Highland Park, in Birmingham, Alabama. The outside of the bag is constructed using a vintage pillowcase hand dyed with acorns foraged from the magical oak trees in Highland Park. The grays were achieved with a post dye dip in ferrous sulfate. The lining is made from an old bed sheet hand dyed with onion skins saved for me by the lovely workers at the Piggly Wiggly on Clairmont.

The tote is constructed with slow precision and thoughtfulness. It takes time to make wearable art of this nature and is a reminder that time is precious, with a re-imagining of the past and present.

Measurements: 14” tall; 15 1/2” wide and strap length is 33 1/2”
